There are now five free drop boxes located at the Wayne Township maintenance building (4570 Middletown-Oxford Road). This valuable service is provided by the Butler County Recycling and Solid Waste District, and Rumpke Recycling.

The following are acceptable items for recycling in those boxes:

  • Plastic Bottles/Jugs #1 #7 (lids attached)
  • Glass Jars and Bottles of Any Color (metal lids can be detached and recycled)
  • Aluminum, Steel, and Bi-Metal Cans
  • Empty Aeorsol Cans with Lids and Tips Removed
  • Brown Paper Grocery Bags
  • Paper: Mixed Office Paper, Junk Mail, Magazines, Envelopes, Newspapers and Inserts, and Telephone Books
  • Corrugated cardboard - Broken Down into 3' by 3' pieces
  • Paperboard such as cereal boxes, beverage cartons, etc.
